There will be more analyzes, before it can be guessed who might have been the high class blond lady, sculptured by quality marble during the Roman Empire era. It may be synchronic with the male headless statue, discovered in August again by the team of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lyudmil Vagalinski (NAIM), under another building from the forum.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DkP4AshX9zo?start=14&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Both artifacts were carefully laid down under later buildings, which points to the hypothesis of some ritual. \u201cIt is not about reusing them as building material. On the contrary &#8211; both the head and the statue are buried with respect, such as a funeral. It is possible that the inhabitants of Heraclea Sintica believed that they protect the buildings from natural cataclysms and barbarian <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1853\" src=\"https:\/\/www.archaeologia-bulgarica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/44932353_1560061217472219_8517199728864133120_n-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"The marble head of Heraclea Sintica \" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.archaeologia-bulgarica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/44932353_1560061217472219_8517199728864133120_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.archaeologia-bulgarica.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/44932353_1560061217472219_8517199728864133120_n-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>raids \u2013 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lyudmil Vagalinski commented. \u2013 I remember a similar case in the Greek-Macedonian city of Heraclea Lyncestis (near Bitola). There was also found a marble statue under a later wall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the first visitors of heraclea Sintica, who had the opportunity to admire the beautifully crafted marble head, was the National Assembly Chairman Mrs. Tsveta Karayancheva. The artifact was then transferred for further cleaning and conservation in NAIM&#8217;s laboratories. The head of Heraclea Sintica will be among the highlights of the National Archaeological Exhibition, which is traditionally opened on February 14<sup>th<\/sup> in Sofia.
