IS THERE A LINK BETWEEN “THE HIDDEN MOUND” AND THE OLDEST GOLD IN THE WORLD?
The team of Dr. Margarita Popova from the National Museum of History found artifacts from about 6500 years ago. Female figurines, pottery and tools were revealed during excavations in the “Hidden mound” locality near the village of Poroi, Pomorie municipality, western Black Sea coast. Archaeologia Bulgarica was able to capture the taking out of these artifacts. According to Dr. Popova, we are talking about a poorly known phase of the late Chalcolithic period. In the heyday of this civilization is the famous Varna Chalcolithic necropolis with the oldest processed gold in the world.
